Today's Passage: Numbers 33

Growing is a fun journey for most children. When I was a child I remember every so often my Mom would want to measure my height. I would stand next to an entry way and she would mark my newly discovered height while recording the date next to it. It was enjoyable to see how much I had grown in such a short amount of time.

Keeping a record of growth is not only fun, but it is important as well. God told Moses to keep a record of the journey of Israel. This involved the spiritual and geographic journey for God's people. This was a significant act because the following generations could then look back and see how God had taken care of their forefathers.

Do you keep record of God working in your life? I know journaling may be seen as effeminate, but the good news is that Moses did it as well! I encourage every reader to take some time and think of how God has been working in your life and write it down. Put the paper and pen in a place where you know you will come back to it. Hopefully in a few months you will see your journal entry and be encouraged by the movement of God. Like the Israelites, we need encouragement through our stages of life. Take some time today and reflect on how great our Creator is.
